In the seventh year of Jehu, Jehoash became king, and he reigned forty years in Jerusalem; and his mother’s name was Zibiah of Beersheba. Jehoash did right in the sight of the LORD all his days in which Jehoiada the priest instructed him.

The idolatry and sinfulness of Israel and Judah lead to their expulsion from the land - a final ignominy in a long history of unfaithfulness.
