But at the beginning of creation, God's original design was different. 'He made them male and female.'* 'On account of this design, a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined permanently to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh,'* united inseparably. So they are no longer two separate individuals, but one flesh joined by God.
