Then Jesus answered him, “The first of all the commandments is, ‘Hear, O Israel. Our one God is the Lord, the Lord. And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ This is the first commandment. And the second is like this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”

Then He called His disciples toHim and said to them, “Truly I say to you, this poor widow has put in more than all of those who are casting money into the treasury. For everyone else contributed out of their abundance; but she out of her destitution put in as much as she had, giving all her living.”

And after sitting down opposite the temple treasury, He observed how the people were casting money into the treasury; and many rich ones were putting in much. And one poor widow came and dropped in two tiny coins, which is equal to one copper coin.

And to love Him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love one’s neighbor as oneself, is more than all burnt offerings and sacrifices.”

And Jesus answered and said to them, “Render the things of Caesar to Caesar, and the things of God to God.” And they were amazed at Him.
