“The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me; for this reason, He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal those who are brokenhearted, to proclaim pardon to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to send forth in deliverance those who have been crushed, To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.”

But Jesus answered and said to him, “Get behind Me, Satan; for it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only shall you serve.’ ”

But Jesus answered him, saying, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.’ ”

And Jesus, filled with the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness

But Jesus answered and said to him, “It is clearly stated, ‘You shall not tempt the Lord your God.’ ”

Now when the devil had completed every temptation, he departed from Him for a time.

Then the devil led Him up into a high mountain and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. And the devil said to Him, “I will give You all this authority, and the glory of them all; for it has been delivered to me, and I give it to whomever I desire. Therefore, if You will worship me in my presence, all things shall be Yours.” But Jesus answered and said to him, “Get behind Me, Satan; for it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only shall you serve.’ ”

Then he led Him to Jerusalem and set Him upon the edge of the temple, and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, cast Yourself down from here; For it is written, ‘He shall give His angels charge concerning You to keep You; And intheir hands they shall bear You up, lest You strike Your foot against a stone.’ ” But Jesus answered and said to him, “It is clearly stated, ‘You shall not tempt the Lord your God.’ ”
