Eadig bið se þe ongyt þæs þearfan and þæs wædlan, and him þonne gefultumað gif hine to onhagað; gif hine ne onhagað, þonne ne licað him, þeah, his earfoðu. Þone gefriþað Drihten on swylcum dæge swylce him swylc yfel becymð.

Drihten him bringð fultum to his bedde þe he an lið, and eall his bedd he onwent of untrumnesse to trymðe.

Þu me underfenge for minre unsceðfulnesse and me gestrangodest beforan þinre ansyne on ecnesse.

Ic cweðe, Drihten, to þe: “Gemildsa me and gehæl mine sawle, for ðon ic gesyngode wið þe.”
