Here’s a saying you can trust and accept completely: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners. And I’m the worst sinner of all

but for that very reason, God showed me mercy. That way Christ Jesus could show how very patient he is. I, the worst of sinners, could become an example for everyone who would believe in him and receive eternal life.

I’m commanding you to do this for the sake of love, which comes from a pure heart, a clear conscience, and sincere faith.

May the eternal King, who will never die, who can’t be seen, and who is the only God, receive honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen.

It isn’t made for godly people, but for lawbreakers and rebels, for ungodly and sinful people, for those who aren’t holy and who don’t believe. The law is for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers, for those who commit sexual sins and homosexual acts. It’s for people who buy and sell slaves, who lie, and who give false witness in court. And it’s for anything else that goes against the true teaching
