And the Gil’adi took the passages of Yarden [Descender] before the Efrayim [Doubly Fruitful]: and it was [so], that when those Efrayim [Doubly Fruitful] which were escaped said, Let me go over; that the men of Gil’ad [Rocky Region] aid unto him, [Are] you i an Efrayimiti [Doubly Fruitful]? If he said, No;
Then said they unto him, Say now Shibbolet [Flowing Stream]: and he said Sibbolet [Ear of Grain or Wheat]: for he could not frame to pronounce [it] right. Then they took him, and killed him at the passages of Yarden [Descender]: and there fell at that time of the Efrayim [Doubly Fruitful] forty and two thousand.
