Now Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, each took his censer and put fire in it, and put incense on it, and offered strange fire before the LORD, which He did not command them to do.

Then Moses said to Aaron, “This is what the LORD spoke, saying: ‘I will be sanctified by those who come near Me; and before all the people I will be glorified.’ ” And Aaron held his peace.

Then a fire came out from the LORD and devoured them, and they died before the LORD.
