A Psalm of David.

1Ascribe to the Lord, O you mighty ones, # Ps 89:6

ascribe to the Lord glory and strength. # Ps 96:7–9

2Ascribe to the Lord the glory due His name;

worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness. # 2Ch 20:21

3The voice of the Lord is over the waters;

the God of glory thunders;

the Lord is over many waters.

4The voice of the Lord is powerful; # Ps 68:33

the voice of the Lord is full of majesty.

5The voice of the Lord breaks the cedars;

the Lord splinters the cedars of Lebanon. # Jdg 9:15; Isa 2:13

6He makes them skip like a calf,

Lebanon and Sirion like a wild ox. # Nu 23:22; Dt 3:9

7The voice of the Lord divides

the flames of fire.

8The voice of the Lord shakes the wilderness;

the Lord shakes the Wilderness of Kadesh. # Nu 13:26

9The voice of the Lord makes the deer give birth, # Job 39:1–3

and strips the forests bare;

and in His temple everyone says, “Glory!”

10The Lord sat enthroned over the flood; # Ge 6:17

and the Lord sits as King forever. # Ps 10:16

11The Lord will give strength to His people; # Isa 40:29

the Lord will bless His people with peace. # Ps 68:35
