- God reveals the kingdom through Jesus’s life and ministry. Jesus calls a group of twelve ordinary men to be His disciples (Matthew 10). Look for examples of what it means to be a follower of Jesus.
- Often Jesus teaches through parables, stories with deeper meanings (Matthew 13). These can be difficult to understand. Read closely, but know that even Jesus’s disciples were confused at times. Jesus helps them understand.
- Jesus begins to predict His own death, to the dismay of Peter (Matthew 16:21–23).
