Voordat iemand iets kon sê, het Jesus na die draagbaar toe gestap en dit vasgegryp. Toe die verbaasde draers tot stilstand kom, sê Jesus vir die dooie: “Jongman, word lewendig. Ek sê vir jou: staan nou dadelik op!” Toe gebeur daar ’n groot wonderwerk. Reg voor almal het die seun lewendig geword. Hy het orent gekom en begin praat. Jesus het hom toe aan sy ma se sorg oorgelaat.
