In the Old Testament, we read about God’s plan to have a permanent place to visit. This plan was revealed to Moses and was called a ‘Tabernacle’ or ‘Tent Of Meeting.’ After that, when God’s people had settled in their land, He revealed an improved version to King David, and a Temple was to be built! A lavish, extravagant building with golden walls and silver furniture. Even a building as magnificent as this wasn’t God’s final plan for the Church. God’s master plan all along was to reveal Himself to everyone, everywhere, by living inside of us - a living, breathing meeting place. The Church is not just a building, its people!
When we meet together as believers, God calls this The Church. Simply put, The Church is a gathering of believers, gathered for a purpose, to meet with God! God is in us and being revealed through us to others.
