We’re learning about how the Church is God’s plan. How did the first Christians, the followers of Jesus, begin gathering as The Church?

Jesus' followers were gathered together. Suddenly, a sound like a powerful gust of wind filled the whole house where they were gathered, everyone there was filled with the Holy Spirit, and they began to speak in other languages they had never known before.

Peter went out to the streets and preached the good news about Jesus. Three thousand people believed and were saved that day!

From then on, all the believers gathered together. They ate, prayed, and learned more about what Jesus had taught the apostles. They even sold what they had to share with anyone who didn’t have enough. They supported each other and used their gifts to serve one another.

This was the Church! These followers of Jesus had created what we know as the Church, and from then to now, in all different countries and with different people, we are connected to those early believers! I believe the Church is God’s plan.
