Day 1: What Are Your Conflict Stories?

Devotional:
Conflict is part of every human life. Whether it stems from mistakes we've made or wrongs done to us, these moments shape our relationships and often define how we think about justice. Consider the stories of two men involved in fatal car accidents caused by drunk driving. One is still caught in a cycle of retribution and brokenness, while the other, through confession and forgiveness, has found a path forward. The key difference lies in how they—and those affected—responded to the conflict. True justice isn’t just about punishment; it’s about the possibility of healing and restored relationships.

The Bible shows us that God is not distant from our conflict. He cares deeply about justice, but His justice is also saturated with love. Through Jesus Christ, God made a way for both offenders and victims to be reconciled to Him and to one another. Jesus understands our pain because He experienced injustice, betrayal, and death. He bore the sin of many and made intercession for transgressors. Whether you carry guilt or grief—or both—God’s justice through Christ offers hope, not just judgment. He invites us to bring our stories to Him and receive His restoring grace.

Reflection Question:
What unresolved conflict in your life might God be inviting you to view through His lens of justice and grace?

Prayer:
Lord, You see every part of my story—the things I’ve done and the things done to me. Help me to see justice not only as consequences but as a path toward healing. Thank You for sending Jesus, who understands and heals both victims and offenders. Begin Your restoration work in my heart today. Amen.
