Day 9: The Value of Inclusion

Devotional

When conflict or wrongdoing occurs, it’s easy to withdraw, isolate, or handle things unilaterally. But Scripture calls us to something greater: inclusion. God’s justice involves drawing in—not pushing away—all those affected by sin or harm. Involving others brings accountability, clarity, and potential for true restoration. Deuteronomy, Matthew, and 1 Timothy all affirm the importance of witnesses and community engagement in discerning truth and navigating conflict. In restorative justice, this is called including all “stakeholders.” Everyone impacted by the wrongdoing is invited into the process of healing. This may be difficult, but when done in humility and grace, inclusion builds empathy, reduces alienation, and opens the door for healing. God’s justice is deeply relational—it acknowledges each person’s voice and presence.

Reflection Question:
Who have you left out in your response to a past conflict? What would it look like to include others in your journey toward resolution and restoration?

Prayer:
Lord, teach me to value and practice inclusion. Help me not to ignore or isolate others but to welcome voices that need to be heard. Use my willingness to involve others as a step toward healing and peace. Amen.
