Back to the Basics 365

DAY 303 OF 365

We live in a world where our attention is pulled in many different directions at once. It feels like everything wants to take top priority in our lives. However, not everything should be given the same level of importance. How do we determine what should take priority? Ephesians 5:15-17 tells us, “See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.”

Our instruction is clear: do not neglect God-given priorities. We should give priority to the things that God has deemed important. The world will try to distract us, but getting distracted will bring frustration, guilt, and the feeling that we can’t do it. Juggling the responsibilities of our lives with serving God requires that we seek God’s wisdom in how we manage our time.
