Back to the Basics 365

DAY 276 OF 365

As a child, I remember how good I felt whenever I did what my parents asked me to do (e.g., clean my room, throw out the trash, do the dishes, etc.). I completed those tasks for several reasons, one being that I didn’t want to get in trouble for not doing something my parents explicitly asked me to do. But the most important reason I obeyed them was because they were my parents, and I loved and respected them.

Similarly, Jesus reminded His disciples in John 14:15 that if they loved Him, they would keep His commandments.

When it comes to following God's commands, we shouldn’t aim to be 99% compliant; we should strive to be 100% all in for God. Why? Because He is worthy!
