Back to the Basics 365

DAY 279 OF 365

One of the pastor’s primary responsibilities is to ensure that God’s people are being nourished by God’s Word. He is to preach the Word.

The Bible tells us that faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God (Romans 10:17). To ensure healthy spiritual growth, you must be under the sound of God's Word. My pastor always says, "It takes three to thrive": Sunday morning service, Sunday evening service, and Wednesday night Bible study. A truly happy Christian is one who loves to hear God's Word. God’s design for this is through men of God, pastors, who faithfully and unapologetically preach the whole counsel of God. It’s also important to pray for your pastor as he delivers God's Word week after week. Pastors are committed to ensuring their flock is fed spiritually.
