Back to the Basics 365

DAY 280 OF 365

God has given pastors the responsibility to pray for people in the church. There are some battles that will only be won through prayer. One of the best ways to allow your pastor to lead you is to confide in him and let him know specific ways to pray for you. Ask for his counsel. Hebrews 13:17 says your pastor is to “watch for your soul”. He won’t know how to intercede for you unless you share with him.

I remember looking down at my phone and seeing a text from my pastor. It simply said, "I'm praying for you." Little did he know that at that very moment, my heart was heavy with some very difficult struggles I was dealing with.

I thank the Lord for a pastor who loves me and genuinely prays for me. I can confide in him, sharing my most personal struggles and prayer requests, knowing he will go to the Lord and intercede on my behalf. Of course, I can pray directly to God myself, but there’s something powerful about knowing others are lifting me up to the same God, asking for His grace and mercy.

Prayer is powerful.

Do you share prayer requests with your pastor so he can pray for you?

Do you pray for your pastor?
