Solomon’s birth was foretold to David by God. David had many children, but Solomon was unique among them all. The Lord had endowed him with matchless wisdom. He surpassed everyone and all the kings of the earth in riches and in wisdom. All the earth sought the presence of Solomon to hear his wisdom, which God had put in his heart. But as days went by, he presumptuously married many foreign women ‘other than the Israelites’, which was against the command of the Lord. He ‘clung to them in love’ and they turned his heart towards other gods. Consequently, his heart was not loyal to the Lord his God as was the heart of his father David. He did evil in the sight of the Lord. He started going after other gods, failing to love God with all his heart. He completely despised the warning of God and lost the glory of God in his life. 

My friend, like Solomon, are you being carried away by your worldly friends in college/work place? If your friend takes the wrong path, are you following the same path with them for fun? You must be careful of those who surround you. Do not be carried away by their doings. As the Bible says, you cannot carry Jesus Christ and the pleasure of this world together. Choose God and be blessed. 

Prayer

“Loving Lord, I believe that I cannot be yoked with non-believers. Lord, I ask for Your wisdom to guide me and guard me from all temptations. Lord, let Your word be a light to my path. Lead me in righteousness. This I pray in Jesus’ name Amen.”
