Double for Trouble 

My precious sister Angel died in a tragic car accident on 21st May, 1986. My parents and I were shattered. Simultaneously, when we prayed as a family, the Holy Spirit filled us and strengthened us. Immediately, we cried out to Him saying, “Lord, we will continue to cling on to You. We will continue to preach that Jesus is good.” Within 3 months we worked tirelessly and inaugurated the Karunya University on 4th October, 1986. When the first batch of 180 students joined the college, our hearts melted. All of them were 17 years old, the same age as Angel was. The Lord graciously gave 180 Angels for the one Angel we lost. Today, nearly 8500 students are pursuing their education in the Karunya University. As the Chancellor of the University, when I confer the degree on nearly 2000 students every year, I shed tears. Although my sister Angel could not receive a degree, the Lord has graciously enabled thousands of students to receive their degrees in the place of Angel. 

My dearly beloved, our God is a good God. He never allows you to suffer loss without restoration. He is a restorer! When He restores, He will bring in more quantity and quality in the blessing He gives. Don’t dwell on your loss. Turn your mind towards the God who restores. As God restored unto us and to Job in the Bible, He will restore unto you too! 

Prayer

“Loving Father, I come before You with grievous losses that has caused physical, mental and emotional pain to me. You are a wonderful restorer. Whatever the devil has killed, stolen and destroyed in my life, I command a restoration in Jesus’ name. Amen.”
