1For the kingdom o’ heaven is like until a man that is a househaulder, wha gaed out soon in the mornin’ to fee laborers intil his wineyard.
2An’ whan he had ’gree’t wi’ the laborers for a penny a day, he sendet them intil his wineyard.
3An’ he gaed out about the third hour, an’ saw ithers stan’in’ idle in the market‐place,
4An’ he said until them, Gae ye alsua intil the wineyard; an’ whatsaever is richt, I will gie you. An’ they gaed their gate.
5Again he gaed out about the saxt’ an’ nint’ hour, an’ did likewaise.
6An’ about the elevent’ hour he gaed out, an’ fand ithers stan’in’ idle, an’ saith until them, Why stan’ ye here a’ day idle?
7They say until him, Because nae man hath fee’d us. He saith until them, Gae ye alsua intil the wineyard; an’ whatsaever is richt, that sall ye hae.
8Sae whan the gloamin’ was come, the lord o’ the wineyard saith until his grieve, Ca’ the laborers, an’ gie them their wage, beginnin’ frae the last until the first.
9An’ whan they cam’ wha were fee’d about the elevent’ hour, they gat ilka man a penny.
10But whan the first cam’, they thoucht that they sud hae gotten mair; an’ they likewaise were pay’t ilka man a penny.
11An’ whan they had receivet it they grounget agayne the guidman o’ the house,
12Sayin’, Thae last hae wroucht but ae hour, an’ thou hast made them eyne wi’ us wha hae borne the burden an’ heat o’ the day.
13But he answer’t ane o’ them, an’ said, Frien’, I do thee nae wrang; didstna thou ’gree wi’ me for a penny?
14Tak’ that whilk is thine, an’ gae thy gate: I will gie until this last e’en as until thee.
15Isna it lawfu’ for me to do what I will wi’ mine ain? Is thine ee evil, because I am guid?
16Sae the last sall be first, an’ the first last; for mony are ca’d, but few are wal’d.
17An’ Jesus gaein’ up til Jerusalem teuk the twal disciples aside in the road, an’ said until them,
18Behald, we gae up til Jerusalem; an’ the Son o’ man sall be betrayet until the chief priests an’ until the scribes, an’ they sall condemn him til death,
19An’ sall gie him til the Gentiles to mock, an’ to scourge, an’ to crucify him; an’ the third day he sall rise again.
20Than cam’ til him the mither o’ Zebedee’s childer wi’ her sons, worshippin’ him, an’ desirin’ a certain thing o’ him.
21An’ he said until her, What wilt thou? She saith until him, Grant that thae my twa sons may sit, the ane on thy richt han’, an’ the tither on thy left, in thy kingdom.
22But Jesus answer’t an’ said, Ye dinna ken what ye ask. Are ye able to drink o’ the tass whilk I sall drink o’, an’ to be baptizet wi’ the baptism whilk I am baptizet wi’? They say until him, We are able.
23An’ he saith until them, Ye sall indeed drink o’ my tass, an’ be baptizet wi’ the baptism whilk I am baptizet wi’; but to sit on my richt han’, an’ on my left, isna mine to gie, but it sall be gien til thae for wham it is preparet o’ my Father.
24An’ whan the ten hear’t it, they were movet wi’ anger agayne the twa brithren.
25But Jesus ca’d them until him an’ said, Ye ken that the princes o’ the Gentiles hae lordship owre them, an’ they wha are great hae power owre them.
26But it sallna be sae amang you; but whasaever will be great amang you, let him be your minister;
27An’ whasaever will be chief amang you, let him be your servan’:
28E’en as the Son o’ man cam’na to be minister’t until, but to minister, an’ to gie his life a ransom for mony.
29An’ as they gaed awa frae Jericho, a meikle thrang followet him.
30An’, behald, twa blin’ men sittin’ by the roadside, whan they hear’t that Jesus passet by, criet out, sayin’, Hae pity on us, O Lord, thou Son o’ David!
31An’ the thrang charget them that they sud haud their tongue; but they criet the mair, sayin’, Hae pity on us, O Lord, thou Son o’ David!
32An’ Jesus stood still, an’ ca’d them, an’ said, What will ye that I sud do until you?
33They say until him, Lord, that our een may be openet.
34Sae Jesus had pity on them, an’ touchet their een, an’ straughtway their een gat sicht, an’ they followet him.
