God’s word is profitable for spiritual growth Once you have committed your life to God and accepted Jesus as your Savior, a whole new life begins. Living with Jesus is a lifelong process of learning and being transformed by the Holy Spirit. One of the main resources for this spiritual growth is the Bible. It is given to us by God himself, and is “profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness”. God’s Word contains so many valuable lessons for us that it is worth studying over and over again. It helps us to know God better, to know ourselves better, and to transform our lives. The lessons the Bible teaches us are not always nice and sweet. They might be hard to understand and even harder to accept and apply. But there is a lot of truth in the popular children’s song: “Read your Bible, pray every day if you want to grow”. Do you take this advice to heart?
