God’s Word remains forever Psalm 119 sings: “Forever, O Lord, your word is firmly fixed in the heavens.” The same truth is preached by the prophets of Israel and later by the apostles. God’s word remains firm. Once He has said something, He will not back out. His words are like a firm foundation on which we can build our lives. What is the core message of this “word of the Lord”, which is also called “the good news”? It is that “God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16). Is that the foundation of your life? Or are you still searching for other foundations, or simply building your life on the sandy ground? Be aware that not only God’s promises come true, but also his announcements of judgment like in Jeremiah 6:19: “Behold, I am bringing disaster upon this people, the fruit of their devices, because they have not paid attention to My words”.
