Nëse vepron mirë a nuk do të shihesh me pëlqim? Por, nëse nuk vepron mirë, mëkati të pret te dera, të dëshiron, por ti duhet ta sundosh». Kaini foli me Abelin, të vëllanë; kur u gjendën në fushë Kaini u ngrit kundër Abelit, të vëllait, dhe e vrau. ZOTI i tha Kainit: «Ku është Abeli, vëllai yt?». Ai tha: «Nuk e di. Mos jam rojtari i vëllait tim?!». ZOTI i tha: «Çfarë bëre?! Dëgjo, po më thërret nga toka gjaku i vëllait tënd. Dhe tani mallkuar qofsh nga toka që hapi gojën për të përpirë gjakun e vëllait tënd, derdhur prej dorës sate. Kur të punosh tokën, ajo nuk do të t'i japë më prodhimet e saj. Ikanak e endacak do të jesh mbi tokë». Kaini i tha ZOTIT: «Ndëshkimi im është më i madh nga ç'mund të mbaj. Ja, ti sot më dëbove nga faqja e dheut dhe do të jem i fshehur nga prania jote. Ikanak e endacak do të jem mbi tokë e kushdo që më gjen do të më vrasë».
