3 - LORD'S PRAYER - the Lord´s Requirementsਨਮੂਨਾ

06 – An Invitation
Jesus invites everyone to sanctify the Father’s name. Yes—everyone: outcasts, sinners of the worst kind—thieves, murderers, traffickers, kidnappers, and more. Jesus often sat at banquets and spent time in the company of society’s rejects. He did not come for the healthy but for the sick (see Mark 2:15–17). And He invites us as well!
What is remarkable is that being among sinners does not profane God’s name. If it did, Christ would never have met with such people—and ultimately, that includes us too! Prostitutes, homosexuals, and other marginalized people are all invited to sit with Jesus and talk, even in the heat of the day at the edge of a well (see John 4:5–42). He even invites those who come at the very last hour (see Luke 14:15–24).
Jesus not only invites us to His table but also gives His life for us all—and He does so publicly. That is why we, who cannot go a single day without stumbling, rejoice in the invitation to sanctify Him through our lives.
To sanctify God’s name goes far beyond praising or worshiping Him, or zealously guarding His name. It means honoring Him through our daily lives and actions—even though we remain sinners. What matters is that we never lose sight of the daily pursuit of Christ, who is holy, and who by His life, death, and resurrection sanctified the Father’s name in spirit and in truth.
Sanctifying the Father’s name is our goal. We know we do not deserve this privilege, but since we have been redeemed by the blood of the Lamb, we can pray: Abba, Father, hallowed be Your name!

About this Plan

The well-known Lord's Prayer, taught by Jesus to his disciples, can be divided, for study purposes, into two parts. The first addresses God's demands: his dwelling, his person, his kingdom, and his will. The second half addresses humanity's demands: their needs for bread, forgiveness, and deliverance. Let us, in this context, address the first part of the prayer.
