3 - LORD'S PRAYER - the Lord´s Requirements

DAY 10 OF 17

10 – In Man!

We now know where, ultimately, the Name of God must be glorified and sanctified—and the answer is: in the human heart!

When this takes place, God will also be sanctified in the church and in the world. Therefore, we conclude that the Name of our God and Father must first and foremost be sanctified within us and through our lives.

If God is our Father, then we are His children; and if we are His children, we bear His Name in such a way that the character and personality of our Father are reflected in us. This makes us His heirs!

We understand that our friends and acquaintances do not expect the world to sanctify the “Name of God,” and that many are so unbelieving that they do not even recognize God’s glory within churches.

But one thing is certain: they will carefully observe the lives of those who claim to be “children of God.” Their principles, attitudes, integrity, character, speech, and actions will always be examined with careful, meticulous, and constant scrutiny.

People usually find faults in others—it is impossible to please everyone. However, this reality cannot be used as an excuse for God’s children to live irresponsibly, neglecting to sanctify the Father’s Name in their daily lives. Honoring God’s Name awakens a response of love in His heart, and for this reason, we are surrounded by His Spirit and enriched with countless blessings.

This is what happens when we sanctify the Name that is above every name.

About this Plan

3 - LORD'S PRAYER - the Lord´s Requirements

The well-known Lord's Prayer, taught by Jesus to his disciples, can be divided, for study purposes, into two parts. The first addresses God's demands: his dwelling, his person, his kingdom, and his will. The second half addresses humanity's demands: their needs for bread, forgiveness, and deliverance. Let us, in this context, address the first part of the prayer.
