What Is My Calling?ਨਮੂਨਾ

Called to come back to God
“God is faithful, by Whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.” (1 Corinthians 1:9 ESV)
The first man called by God was Adam — immediately after he had been unfaithful to Him. The Lord God had told Adam and his wife Eve that they could freely eat of all the fruit in the Garden of Eden except from one single tree. But Adam and Eve ate from this forbidden tree anyway. Thus the good relationship between God and man was damaged. Adam and Eve were ashamed of their transgression and wanted to hide from their Creator. But God did not allow them to run away from Him. He wanted to restore contact with His disobedient, beloved children. And so, His piercing cry rang out, “Adam, where are you?”
That question still resonates today. God Himself calls to all of us, “Where are you? Come to Me!” He wants a loving relationship with each of us. That is the first and deepest calling of every human being.
Being in contact with God is not straightforward, now that sin has caused a breach in the relationship. Reconciliation is needed. It is found in “His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.” Jesus has done everything necessary to restore the relationship. He invites us, He even calls us insistently to come back to God.
Have you responded to that call? How has that changed your life?
