REFORM OUR ENCOUNTERS, LORD!

In Matthew 22, Jesus compares the Kingdom of Heaven to a great wedding feast. In this parable, the king prepared a wedding banquet for his son. As he sent invitations, those who had been invited refused to come, no matter how extravagant the wedding feast was. After multiple invitations, they still refused. This parable can be an example of your encounters with the Lord. Many times, God calls you away to encounter Him, and you refuse Him.

There are many reasons why you say no to an encounter with God. Oftentimes, it's because an area of your life needs reformation, and the enemy causes you to resist meeting with the Great Reformer who will bring lasting change and freedom to your lives. Song of Songs 2:4 reads, “He escorts me to the banquet hall; it’s obvious how much he loves me.” God loves you so much that He has invited you to a great celebration meal every day in your daily encounters. The banquet is ready, the feast is prepared, and God is the celebration meal! Will you refuse Him like the guests in Matthew 22, who ignored the invitation? Or will you say yes and feast on Him every day?

Reformation starts in your daily encounters. Each day, you have the opportunity to feast on Him at His banquet table. Allow God to begin reformation in you by first reforming your encounters with Him. He wants to be what you feed on. He wants to satisfy your soul!

PRAYER

Lord, I ask for you to reform any crooked ways within me. I seek your heart and mind in all things. I pray less of me, more of you. I want to be zealous for your discipline. Show me what pleases you. Give me a teachable heart of repentance. I want to be set apart for You, for Your glory. I love you. Amen.

APPLICATION

• Read the scriptures today and ask God to search your heart.
• Repent for the times you have refused to encounter Him and create a plan to encounter Him every day.
