Yes Jesus: 7 Days of Loving and Serving

DAY 1 OF 7

He Is Speaking

When Isaiah overheard the Lord asking who he should send as a messenger, it is likely that he was filled with reverence, awe, and interest. Isaiah knew that this was an opportunity to partner with what God was doing. He recognized the significance of the moment, and he responded with willingness. He didn’t respond because he was qualified or fully equipped, but because he wanted to obediently serve God.

God didn’t use Isaiah because of his many impressive attributes. He was looking for someone willing; he didn’t need a list of credentials. All God needed was a heart that was ready to serve. When he calls us, he himself equips us. All we need to bring to the table is willingness, humility, and commitment.

Just as God called Isaiah, He is still calling us today. He is still asking who will go. The invitation hasn’t changed. God hasn’t stopped offering to move through his people. He still gives us opportunities to partner with him, and his requirements are still the same. A willing heart is all we need. We won’t always see every step of the journey before we begin, but we can trust him to guide, strengthen, and equip us.

Quiet your heart and listen for God’s voice. Ask him to lead you, and he will faithfully do it. Offer him your life and follow his guidance. Just as Isaiah’s obedience had ripple effects, so can your obedience have an incredible impact on your life and the lives around you. Allow God to use you, and you won’t be disappointed.
