Prepare the Way: Passion Students Winter Wkndਨਮੂਨਾ

This Psalm, along with the other Psalms of Ascent, was traditionally sung during the uphill climb to the city of Jerusalem for Israel’s traditional festivals.
The psalmist conveys the spirit of joy and gladness that comes with being in the presence of God. Psalms 122:1 says, “I rejoiced with those who said to me, ‘Let us go to the house of the LORD.’”
Every time you meet with God you are entering His presence. In the times this Psalm was written, God’s presence was only accessible in the Holy of Holies in the temple through the High Priest, but because of Jesus, anyone who believes in Him can be fully in the presence of God. You have more access to God than the Psalmist who wrote this passage. That begs the question, “Do you long to be in the presence of the Lord like the psalmist did?” If someone evaluated your life, would they look at how you spend your time and think, “This person loves to be in the presence of God.”? It is impossible to enter the presence of God and leave unchanged. Long to get in His presence.
