Have you ever wanted something for so long but felt empty when you got it? Many things today can come to mind — online followers, likes, grades, and achievements. It's easy to hope for and trust in these things when we are looking for them to fulfill us. These things aren't harmful in and of themselves! It isn't wrong or bad to want more followers, good grades, or to do well in sports.
These are all amazing, but they become dangerous when our identity becomes wrapped up in them. We can begin to feel this when we don't attain a certain level of success and think that it says something about who we are or that we are less worthy of love. Jesus reminds us that these things will never satisfy our deepest desires and that if we never do any of them again, we are still fully loved by God, reminding us we are enough.
Can this love change the way you see yourself?

About this Plan

We all want to make a difference! We dream of making an impact and making the world a better place. The people who’ve made the biggest differences did it with other people. Jesus gave his followers a mission that would change the world — not as individuals, but as a group on a mission together. In this 20-day devotional series from Grow Curriculum, we’ll explore this mission.
