One of the most encouraging things someone can do when you're doing something in front of a crowd is cheering you on! You just feel it in the air when you're in the middle of an intense moment and, from the corner of your eye, see someone rooting for you. It gives you the strength to know you have a friend or loved one somewhere that is there specifically for you! It changes things having a community there to love you no matter what the outcome is.
Timothy felt this whenever he got his letters from Paul. You can imagine after a discouraging day of loving and interacting with people, he would light up when he received a letter from Paul. Timothy knew that he was on his team, and if he needed anything, Paul would show up for him. If Timothy needed encouragement and strength from his community, how much more do we need it as we go through life?
Who is someone that is on your team — cheering you on in your faith?

About this Plan

We all want to make a difference! We dream of making an impact and making the world a better place. The people who’ve made the biggest differences did it with other people. Jesus gave his followers a mission that would change the world — not as individuals, but as a group on a mission together. In this 20-day devotional series from Grow Curriculum, we’ll explore this mission.
