If only this were true for us all the time! And yet, I have sometimes found myself being quite shaken during times of trouble and stress. Our Lord was the last person I turned to. And yet, when I remember this promise from the Psalmist I really do find rest and thank God for my salvation.
Where does your soul find rest?
Pray: Dear Lord, help me always to remember that you are my rock and my salvation. May I turn to you confident in this knowledge during times of trouble. Amen.

The irritating benefit of hindsight is that it is often easier to see why we should have listened to biblical wisdom when we suffer through trials and difficulties. The one thing I keep learning is that the wisdom was there all along; I just needed to look for it. It is one thing to have faith in your head. It is quite another to live out that faith in your heart, day by day.
