Sacrifice with Joy
2 Chronicles 23:16, 18
“Jehoiada then made a covenant that he and the people and the king would be the Lord’s people…Then Jehoiada placed the oversight of the temple of the Lord in the hands of the priests, who were Levites…to present the burnt offerings of the Lord as written in the Law of Moses, with rejoicing and singing as David had ordered.”
The sacrificing of animals and the shedding of blood for the forgiveness of sin was to be done with singing and rejoicing. While there is a cost to sacrifice, joy comes with forgiveness and the freedom that God’s forgiveness brings.
How much joy are we living with as we worship, give our offerings, surrender our lives to ministry and pray for God’s purposes in our children?
Are we sacrificing and surrendering with joy?
Lord Jesus, your presence, forgiveness and freedom are worth celebrating. Fill me with your joy as we enjoy your presence and worship.
