Day Eighteen: Isaiah 35-Jeremiah 3
God’s Heart for the restoration of all things is on display in these readings. Judah is truly rebellious and unfaithful to the Lord, but God will heal His people. Isaiah’s prophecies are as relevant today as they ever were in that they are being fulfilled and will be fulfilled.
God’s willingness to deal with the issue of sin as well as to restore the Creation to glory shows us a picture of a God who isn’t vindictive or far-off from His rebellious people, but rather present in the pain. Isaiah reminds us about “Emmanuel”—that God is with us.
