Господ, Бог, го зеде човекот и го постави во Еденската Градина, за да ја обработува и да ја чува. Господ, Бог, му заповеда на човекот, велејќи: „Јади слободно од секое дрво во градината, но да не јадеш од дрвото за познавање на доброто и злото! Во денот кога јадеш од него, навистина ќе умреш!“ И Господ, Бог, рече: „Не е добро човекот да биде сам, ќе му направам помошник соодветен нему.“ Тогаш Господ, Бог, ги обликува од земја сите животни во полето и сите птици во воздухот, и ги приведе при човекот, за да види како ќе ги нарече, па како човекот ќе го именува секое суштество, така да му биде името. Човекот им даде имиња на сиот добиток, на птиците во воздухот и на секое животно во полето. Но за човекот не се најде помош соодветна на него. Тогаш Господ, Бог, му нанесе длабок сон на човекот та тој заспа, и му извади едно од неговите ребра, а местото го исполни со месо. Од реброто што го зеде од човекот Господ, Бог, обликува жена и ја доведе при човекот.
