Day 2: Equipped for Good Works

Devotional
God never calls you into purpose empty-handed. Ephesians 2:10 says you are God’s workmanship, “created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Your assignment in life—including wealth creation—is not random. It was prepared beforehand, and with that assignment comes grace and ability.

Deuteronomy 8:18 reminds us that it is God “who gives you the ability to produce wealth.” Your intelligence, opportunities, and ideas are not accidental; they are part of God’s empowerment so His covenant can be established through you. You are not self-made—you are grace-made.

Philippians 2:13 takes this further: “For it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfil his good purpose.” God not only gives you capacity; He also works in your desires and actions so that what you build carries His fingerprint.

Revelation 1:6 says Jesus “has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve his God and Father.” You carry both priestly (God’s presence) and kingly (God’s influence and decisions) roles into the marketplace. That means your office, classroom, farm, shop floor, or boardroom can become an altar where you worship God through excellence, integrity, and service.

Wealth, then, is not merely for comfort; it is a tool for good works—to build people, fund kingdom initiatives, lift families, and transform communities. When you see yourself as equipped by God, your work shifts from “making a living” to fulfilling a calling.

How does seeing yourself as God’s workmanship, equipped for good works, change the way you view your job, business, or studies?

Prayer
Father, thank You that You have prepared good works for me and equipped me to fulfil them. Work in me to will and to act according to Your purpose. Help me steward every resource—time, skills, money, influence—as Yours. Let my work become worship and my success a testimony of Your grace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
