LET YOUR MIND BE FILLED WITH HIS WORD

Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful… (Ps 1:1) It is so important that we choose our friends well and our counsellors even better. Avoid mockers and people with a temper. (Prov 15:12 and 22:10,24) Do not be deceived: The righteous should choose his friends carefully, for the way of the wicked leads them astray. (Prov 12:26 NKJV)

We need to find our delight in His word. Take time to meditate, think, contemplate, and ponder on His word. Worship while we meditate on the word. His word is His principles, His heart, His values. Thinking and meditating on it will reveal His character. But His delight is in the law* (instructions) of the LORD, and in His law (instructions) he meditates day and night. (Ps 1:2) Making His word a priority in our lives will lead to amazing breakthroughs.

·You shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water. (v 3a)His word will give us roots in the Spirit. A tree planted by the waters has no problem growing and being fruitful.

·That brings forth its fruit in its season. (v 3b)We will bear the right fruit at the right time.

·Whose leaf also shall not wither. (v 3c)We will stay spiritually healthy.

·And whatever he does shall prosper. (v 3d)If we follow the principles of the word, we will prosper and succeed in our Godly assignment.

The ungodly, on the other hand, are not like the godly. They are like chaff which the wind drives away. They have no root in themselves. They are not anchored. Even a small wind will drive them away. (v 4)

A house that is built on the rock of His word is storm-resistant. It has the ability to withstand rain that batters it, floodwaters that rise against it, and tornadoes in full force. Believe me, life has the ability to throw some nasty stuff at you. False accusations, losing your job, the death of a child, being diagnosed with an incurable disease, relationship breakdowns, bankruptcy, etc.

We are to build a life that is storm-resistant! Build it on the rock of His word!

24 “Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: 25 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. (Mat 7:24,25)

Father, Thank You for grace to apply Your word to every aspect of my life – marriage, family, children, relationships, church, workplace, business, money, taxes, recreation, sport, etc.
