Growing Multigenerational Faith

31 ನ 4 ದಿನ

Living in a multi-generational household with our son and his family is a gift beyond measure. This blessing allows the opportunity to internalize God's Word and then share His love daily. Even as we never stop growing in God, we want to encourage our adult children and grandchildren to also continue to mature in His love. Young people are bombarded with a worldview that is contrary to Christian truth. By sharing our experiences, which establish the foundation of our faith, we seek to encourage them to a close walk with our Lord and Savior. "Tell your children of it, and let your children tell their children, and their children to another generation." (Joel 1:3,ESV)

The Bible tells us repeatedly that this life will be filled with challenges. In Deuteronomy, God instructs Moses to remember the hardships the people endured and the grace of God that saw them through to the promised land. God instructs Moses to pass down the remembrance to future generations to encourage them in God's promises. "And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise." (Deut. 6:6-7, ESV ).

In God's promises, we know we will never be alone and we can always rely on His strength to see us through. It is our hope that our children and grandchildren will remember us as good stewards of God's Word and encouragers of His promises. But more importantly, our prayer is for future generations to know and love Jesus as their personal Savior.
