Growing Multigenerational Faith

31 ನ 16 ದಿನ

While we're young, we are told the stories of the Lord in the Scriptures. We are told of creation, Adam and Eve, Noah and the Flood, Moses and the parting of the Red Sea, and the Israelites in the desert — all the way to Jesus' life, death on the cross, and resurrection. All these stories shared with us by previous generations helped shape our young minds for a relationship with the Lord by giving examples of the characteristics and nature of God.

As we grow up, we take that groundwork, those stories, and put our faith in Him. Life is filled with high school, driver's tests, dating, college, careers, marriages, and starting families. Before long, we look back and realize we have our own stories about God's faithfulness and character to share with the next generation. Through the sharing of these stories, we praise the name of the Lord who sought us amid regular life. We proclaim His faithfulness and power to the next generation.

Where would we be without the Bible? Where would we be without parents and grandparents, friends and family to help make sense of it all? Where would we be without their stories of God’s faithfulness?

God is bigger than you and me. He is bigger than our stories. Yet He still uses our stories to point generations to Him.

Praise God that He chooses to speak through us!
