Growing Multigenerational Faithಮಾದರಿ

Oh, how easy it can be to forget God’s goodness while we live in a broken world. Remembering that “For the Lord is good; His steadfast love endures forever and His faithfulness to all generations”(Psalm 100:5, ESV) can be difficult.
The Israelites forgot (more than once) God’s provision and the great love He displayed when rescuing them from Egypt (Exodus 16:2-3). If you continue reading about their journey through the desert, you notice that their forgetfulness is a continual ailment. But God gave them a cure for their forgetfulness. Worship.
Worship is the acknowledgment of God’s work in our lives. Singing, dancing, tithing, reading Scripture, and helping neighbors can all be expressions of worshipping God.
One manner in which the Israelites worshiped God was through feasting. God gave Israel 7 annual feasts, each designed to recall and honor God's guidance in bringing the Israelites from slavery into the promised land. (Leviticus 23) During these feasts, they worshiped the Lord’s faithfulness in the past, giving them confidence for challenges in the future.
In addition to remembering God’s goodness in their own generation and their parents’ generation, they passed down stories of God’s enduring faithfulness to their children and grandchildren. I can imagine little Israelite boys and girls asking their parents why they camped outside during the feast of booths when they had perfectly good homes to sleep in, or why, on the 1st day of the 7th month, there would always be trumpets blaring.
Think of some ways that you have seen God work in your life. Let them be a testimony for yourself and believers to come. Think of some ways you can worship Jesus in remembrance of His steadfast love. Create generational worship by inviting others to worship with you. Invite your kids, your spouse, grandparents, and friends to celebrate His faithfulness together.

Prayer to Make
Dear Heavenly Father, there are things that are constantly wanting me to worship them instead of you. Help me see where the temptations are and give me the strength to choose to worship you instead. Give me a heart to worship you today. Amen.
