We are not children of God by virtue of being human. Jesus doesn’t talk that way. He says some are children of God while others are children of the devil. None of us are natural born children of God. God has only one Son, Jesus (John 3:16). But God wants to adopt us! That’s what he sets out to do. To take those of us who are of the world, and who belong to the world and the prince of this world, and adopt us as part of his family. To be brothers and sisters of Jesus. That’s how much the Father loves us. He wants to call us his kids.
