I Feel Abandoned

DAY 3 OF 7

God doesn’t abandon - He embraces and heals

Have a look at these verses of comfort. We can draw strength and comfort from them for a lifetime. It is like an ocean of grace and hope, a never-ending stream of God’s presence: “For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:38-39; NKJV).

As you read the passages below, consider the following three questions for each Scripture reference:

1. What do I learn about God from this verse?

2. What is God saying to me in this verse?

3. How can I apply what God is revealing to me from this verse?

Deuteronomy 33:27 (NKJV)“The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms.”

Isaiah 40:11 (BSB)“He tends His flock like a shepherd; He gathers the lambs in His arms and carries them close to His heart.”

Isaiah 46:4 (NKJV)“Even to your old age, I am He, and even to grey hairs I will carry you! I have made, and I will bear; even I will carry, and will deliver you.”

Hosea 11:3–4 (BSB) – “It was I who taught Ephraim to walk, taking them in My arms, but they never realised that it was I who healed them. I led them with cords of kindness, with ropes of love; I lifted the yoke from their necks and bent down to feed them.”

Psalm 63:8 (BSB)“My soul clings to You; Your right hand upholds me.”

Psalm 91:4 (BSB) – “He will cover you with His feathers; under His wings you will find refuge; His faithfulness is a shield and rampart.”

John 10:28-29 (BSB)“No one will snatch them out of my hand.”

2 Corinthians 1:3–4 (BSB)“…the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles…”

Revelation 21:3–4 (BSB)“He will wipe away every tear from their eyes,’ and there will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the former things have passed away.”
