Mission Trip to Campus - Make Your College Years Count

DAY 7 OF 7

Stay Fueled for the Mission

Jesus didn’t say, “Apart from me, you’ll struggle.” He said, “Apart from me, you can do nothing.” If you want to make a difference on your campus, you need more than passion or good intentions. You need to stay connected to the source of power and life: Jesus Himself.

He called it abiding. That means staying close, keeping in step, remaining in Him. It’s not about checking religious boxes, but cultivating an ongoing, personal, life-giving relationship with Christ. Your effectiveness in ministry will flow out of the overflow of your intimacy with Him.

You could memorize every evangelism strategy. You could lead a campus Bible study. You could volunteer at every outreach. But if you’re not walking closely with Jesus, you’re missing it. Busyness for God is not the same as intimacy with God.

Trying to do God’s work without God will only leave you exhausted and ineffective. But when you abide in Him by walking by the Spirit, seeking Him in prayer, opening His Word daily, and surrendering your plans, you begin to see fruit that lasts.

Psalm 63:1 says, “O God, you are my God; earnestly I seek you. My soul thirsts for you…” That kind of hunger fuels the mission. It’s what makes your witness compelling and your life distinct. It’s how you love your classmates well, keep your heart soft, and stay centered when things get hard.

So stay rooted. Prioritize time alone with God. Let Him guide your steps and shape your heart. Because if you want to impact your campus for Jesus, you need to be walking with Him first.
