Mission Trip to Campus - Make Your College Years CountSýnishorn

Living the Great Commission
When Jesus gave the Great Commission, He didn’t just call a few people to go overseas. He called all of us to make disciples wherever we are.
In fact, many scholars agree that the word “Go” in the Great Commission is better understood as “As you go.” That means disciple-making isn’t limited to short-term trips or formal ministry. It happens as you go to class, as you walk your campus, as you eat in the dining hall, as you sit in your dorm, as you live your normal life.
That’s good news. Because that means God has already placed you where you are on purpose.
The people in your lecture halls, the teammates on your intramural squad, the group chat from your dorm floor—none of them are in your life by accident. Just like Esther, you’re there “for such a time as this.” You’ve been strategically positioned by God to make His name known to those around you.
And you’re not alone in it.
God is already at work on your campus. He’s stirring hearts, softening pride, and opening doors for Gospel conversations. Jesus said, “My Father is always at His work to this very day, and I too am working.” Your job is to be faithful and attentive.
As Henry Blackaby once said, “Watch to see where God is working and join Him in His work.”
You don’t have to force opportunities, but you do have to be intentional. Jesus didn’t call us to sit back and wait.
Start conversations. Ask good questions. Invite someone to church. Share your story. Look for moments to point people to Jesus.
You’re not just a student. You’re Christ’s ambassador, and your campus is your mission field.
You’ve been sent. You’ve been placed. You’ve been equipped. Now step into the calling and make disciples where you are.
