The Gospel of Matthew

DAY 26 OF 30

Living with Eternity in Mind

It’s easy to get caught up in the chase for comfort. We worry about what we wear, drive, or post. We plan vacations, upgrade our homes, and fill our lives with things that make today feel good. But if we’re not careful, we can forget what really matters: eternity.

Jesus reminds us that this world is not our final home. Everything around us is temporary. Comforts fade, trends change, and possessions wear out. But eternity with God? That lasts forever.

Watchfulness doesn’t mean living in fear—it means living with focus. It means aligning our daily choices with heaven’s priorities. It means praying with urgency, loving people well, and staying faithful even when the world pulls us toward distraction.

To live ready is to remember that each day is a gift—and a chance to walk in purpose. It’s not about ignoring life’s responsibilities, but living them with eternity in view.

Respond to God’s Word:

Take a moment today to pause. Ask yourself: Am I living for now or living for forever? Choose to realign your heart. Watch and pray—because the King is coming, and He is worth your whole life.
