The Gospel of Matthew

DAY 21 OF 30

Relying on God Like a Child

At the heart of our relationship with God is trust. Trust that He knows what’s best. Trust that He provides. Trust that He leads with love. This kind of trust shows up most clearly in children. They depend on their parents without hesitation—believing they’ll be fed, held, and protected. That same posture is what Jesus points to when He teaches about faith.

Whether He was speaking about marriage, singleness, or life in general, Jesus always returned to the importance of the heart. And in Matthew 19, He lifts up childlike faith—not childishness, but a deep reliance on the Father. He wasn’t just asking for belief; He was inviting us to live with full dependence on God.

Marriage, singleness, parenting, and family life all require trust in God’s wisdom. These relationships are often the most joyful—and the most challenging. But when we approach them with childlike faith, we remember we’re not doing it alone.

God wants to be involved in every part of your family life. He’s trustworthy. He’s steady. And He’s near.

Respond to God’s Word:

Take a moment today to pray for your family. Ask God to guide your relationships with trust, grace, and deep reliance on Him.
