Hebrews Part 1: Shallow ChristianitySýnishorn

Today, Not Tomorrow
The trip from Egypt to the Promised Land should’ve taken 11 days. But for God's people, it stretched into 40 years of wandering. Why? Hardened hearts. Stubbornness. A refusal to listen.
A hard heart doesn’t show up all at once; it forms over time when sin is tolerated, Scripture is resisted, and pride goes unchecked. First, you ignore God. Then, you ignore wise counsel. Before long, you’re spiritually numb and heading in the wrong direction at full speed.
Hebrews lays it out: we need daily accountability. We need men around us who call us out, build us up, and keep us from drifting. That only happens in the context of a real Christian community in a Bible-preaching, Jesus-loving church. Lone wolf Christianity isn’t biblical; it’s dangerous.
Now here’s the harder question: are you currently rejecting something God’s said?
Do you disagree with part of the Bible? Is there sin you’re excusing instead of killing? Are you holding onto bitterness because life has been tough, and you think a hard heart protects you?
The Exodus story is your story. Jesus is your greater Moses, leading you out of sin and death toward life and freedom. But you’ve got to choose obedience on the way. Don’t let rebellion or religion fool you into thinking you’re okay when your heart’s gone cold.
Time to check your heart. Time to check your community. It’s not too late to course correct—but you’ve got to move while it’s still called “today.”
Is your heart soft and teachable, or hard and stubborn? Are you part of a local church that holds you accountable?
