Hebrews Part 1: Shallow Christianity

DAY 10 OF 12

If He Used Moses, He Can Use You

It’s easy to look at men like Moses and Jesus and assume their stories are far removed from ours. But what if the opposite is true? What if God used Moses, an ordinary, flawed man, as a prototype, pointing us to Jesus? And what if that same God wants to use you in powerful ways, too?

The similarities between Moses and Jesus aren’t just fascinating, they’re faith-building:

1. Both spent time in the wilderness to prepare for public ministry.

2. Both chose twelve men—Moses sent spies, Jesus called disciples.

3. Both were miracle-working providers—God fed people through Moses in the wilderness and through Jesus with loaves and fish.

4. Both carried God’s presence—Moses in the Ark, Jesus in His own body.

5. Jesus met with Moses on earth, both during His ministry and later at the Transfiguration.

6. God confirmed their ministries through signs and wonders.

7. Moses turned water into blood—a sign of judgment; Jesus turned water into wine—a sign of joy.

8. God parted the Red Sea for Moses and calmed the Sea of Galilee through Jesus.

9. Moses delivered Israel from bondage, and Jesus delivers the world from sin.

10. Moses gave the law, but Jesus fulfilled it with grace and truth.

The same God who worked through Moses works through Jesus and now wants to work through you. Don’t disqualify yourself because you feel ordinary. So was Moses. So were the disciples. But God doesn’t need your perfection—He wants your obedience.

Take a moment to thank God for delivering you from sin and bondage. Then ask Him this: How do You want to use me today?
